Because they can’t see the home’s story.
I believe in “Story Told, Property Sold.” Tell a story by bringing attention to your home’s unique features, ensuring that buyers can see their new story begin in the home.
Here’s five examples to tell your home’s story:
- Put some “trigger” in the house, that can be seen from the entryway, to draw buyers in. This could be an interesting picture, decorative rug or captivating book. Anything where they can start the journey of picturing themselves walking in the door daily.
- Demonstrate how this house is different from the rest. For example, point out the architectural feature of the windows, explaining the reason behind the beautiful arches.
- Take them back to a simpler time. Imagine images of porch swings or scents of flowers in bloom bringing on a feeling of calm.
- Re-arrange the furniture so that it draws people in to sit down. Help them imagine drinking tea or watching television.
- Find the home’s purpose. Is the kitchen the heart of the home where friends gathered for holiday dinners and told stories of their travels? Is the spacious living room perfect for holiday mornings exchanging presents by the fireplace?
